Tidiness is half the life. For us, it is the whole! Since the foundation of the company in 1901. Not only with the invention of the sheet protector company founder Heinz Ball has revoluted the filing and tidiness in theoffices of the 1950s. Nearly as successful, his son Karlheinz Ball has made a name for himself with breaking inventions about plastic cards. Today, in the third generation NOVO still develops handy organisation materials and brings it to modern exclusivity and design. Our concept: Creating new things, optimate reliable materials and combinating both to a small, but strong collection.

Today, we are geared up for the future with one of the most modern machine parks for environment-friendly card production. Over 100 years of innovation

1901 Foundation of the company
1925 NOVO offers its own file–system. The concept of the company changes basically. Until now, one of the top priorities of NOVO is based on organisation materials for bureau and external work.
1951 Heinz Ball invents the sheet protector
1969 In cooperation with Siemens and the Fahrenberger Organisation NOVO etablishes the warehousing and order placement system for pharmacies based on small plastic cards, the so-called ABDA-cards which is standard until now.
1971 Beginning of plastic card production as one of the first companys in Germany.
1984 First development of chipcards until production line status. Constant expansion and adaption depending on the technical development.
1995 As the first card producer in europe NOVO starts to use the single-card-printing machine, which prints cards steadily in high quality of offset printing.
1996 As the first card producer in europe, NOVO etablishes a digital printing machine which allows (with 6-colour-printing) designs that were impossible with the old system.
1998 Development of possibilities of chipcards with integrated, bistable display.
2005 NOVO was the first again: as the only card producer in europe we offered an internet platform for the fully automatic creation and processing of orders for the plastic card production

2008 As the first and only card producer in europe we took the fastest thermo printing machine for controlled labelling of plastic cards via thermo printing into operation.
2010 Etablishing of the Ergo binders which has received the design-award, into the german market.
